Punk Rock Holiday is a newcomer to the Summer Festival Season. With only 6 editions it already topped by far many other options around Europe. It's placement in Tolmin, Slovenia is one of the reasons for the perfect alternative vacation you can share with your girlfriend, family or friends.
With 2 stages the festival hosts over 50 bands from all over the globe including some of your all time favorites during 5 days.
If you don't have the tickets you're out of luck the festival is completely SOLD OUT.
Here are some essentials you can't miss when in Tolmin.
Vamos a la fiesta!
1. The Magic Freezing River.
The festival is built by the cleanest river in Europe: Soča. Also called "The Emerald Beauty", this river is born by the Julian Alps and flows through the festival area, something exceptional and unusual among other festivals that are built on a grass or a mud field. You definitely would jump straightaway but the water is cold as f**k! You'll gonna need some real guts.
There are 2 beaches, one, next to the camping area and another one that meets a tributary forming super fun rapid waters, both are perfect to hang out, meet people and have a morning beer. Bring some inflables to flow by with your friends.
The Soča's river is also known among audience as the "Hangover Killer". The ancient secret minerals flowing in the water will make your worst pains disappear in a matter of seconds. Remember to keep it clean as you found it, for nature's sake.
2. Camping in the Wildlife.
This is not the common festival. You can camp at free will all along the riverbank. You definitely wanted some adventures right? You'll end up in the forest. Don't stress, 90% of the audience camps there. It's not the most comfortable place ever, but trees will project shadow so you'll sleep longer. Be aware, wasps are everywhere! 🐝
The festival provides with everything you need:
- Showers: Hot and Cold water showers are available. Not for shy!
- Food and Drinks: Need a late night bite? You can get anything.
- Ice: Really useful to keep your cans cold.
3. Tolmin: Rock City
With a small population of 3525 during the year, in august the city is flooded with thousands of Metalheads and Punkers that triple inhabitance. But life won't stop in Tolmin, locals have a terrible english but are friendly and always willing to help.
You'll find everything you need: supermarkets, gas station and restaurants.
At your arrival you may get lost easily, just follow the road straight up until you find a huge sign: "PUNK ROCK ➡️" pointing the road to the festival. There's the stairway to heaven.
4. Beach Stage 🚣
The festival promoters have been always known for supporting the scene and the upcoming bands. That's why "The Beach Stage", built by the river, gives the chance for unsigned acts to prove their value with an outstanding PA and professional set up.Here's also your chance to sign up your band for future editions.
- Attend with your bandmates to the festival.
- Fill in the form at INFO POINT.
- Include your record or demo.
More info HERE.
The organization will listen one by one to all the proposals and only 20 bands will get the slot.
5. Main Stage 🎸
This stage is the main attraction at the whole fest. Punk-Rock legends like NOFX, Descendents or Millencolin will give the best of their energies and sing their all time anthems for one of the craziest crowds in Europe. The stage is fenceless and you can stagedive at your own risk. Remember not to bother artists with stupid selfies or bear hugs. Just go up there and jump. Someone, hopefully will get your ass up!
6. Bird Attack Live Stream
You're not able to attend to the festival? You're somewhere overseas willing to see what's going up in Slovenia? Our pals at Bird Attack Records are setting up a live multi-camera broadcasting on their website birdattackradio.com. Audio is professionally mixed so you get the closest experience without moving from your bedroom. Rad, uh?Don't miss their 10 artists playing there: Antillectual, Edward in Venice or Mainline10 among others.
7. Afterparty 🎉
After all live music is OFF there is party going on at the Beach Stage until late night for the vampires that want to continue dancing. It's time to jump into the water and get refreshed while you drink a mojito.Last year we had the Punk-Rock Karaoke. You were able to grab the microphone and perform like a rockstar with a real band to your fav. tunes.
You definitely don't want to miss this.
8. Festival Market: Food & Merch. 👕 🍔 🍟
Time for shopping! At the festival entrance there are many brands offering their best discounts for kickass apparel. Don't forget to get the official PRH t-shirt as a souvenir and grab some American Socks on the way.
There are also many food trucks and stands where to get decent food. Pizza is always a good choice. 👍
9. Extreme Sports.
This year, the festival is building up a Skateboarding Competition! That's right, we'll be able to see many lads giving out their best tricks. Bring your skateboard!
Tolmin is also known as one of the best spots for paragliding, rafting or canyoning. Contact any of the local adventure/sports offices for more information and to live an exceptional journey in the nature.
For the craziest only!
10. The drive back. 🚐
When everything is over you need to pack up and drive (or fly if you're lucky!) back home. You'll had drunk more beer than water, slept in a tent on the floor and carry the worst hangover ever, but you'll still have that smile on your face because of the unbelievable experience you won't ever forget.
Enjoy Punk Rock Holiday!
I've been there. I know how it feels to be an artist or an athlete trying to get attention from audience, media, festivals or brands. You have been working hard to get that trick right or to build a fanbase while struggling to pay your bills and succeeding in a world full of super talented competition. Few get close to the top and you definitely want to get noticed.
Endorsements and sponsor deals are what you need to climb a step up: Getting related to big companies, gives your talent credibility, awareness and exposure.
You also get free stuff. Wait, were you thinking only about the free stuff?
Here are some messages we got lately on Instagram, clearly lacking of information or communication perspective. Nice examples of...
HOW NOT TO ASK FOR AN ENDORSEMENT DEAL:
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Before anything: Do you think you are eligible for an endorsement? Brands are looking for hard working artists or athletes with impact and capacity to grow overtime. Not everybody is suitable.
N00bs: If you just started few months ago, focus on improving and don't waste someone's time with your first video or demo. Save the contact and come back when you have something interesting.
Projection: Do you have future plans? Tours, releases or performances are crucial for your career and prove your tenacity. Are you a lazy lad looking for free stuff? Forget it.
Big Names: Is there anyone backing you up already?
Sending over messages like "Do You Spons?" or "I really need some socks for skating" is pretty lame and with a high deficit of information, intention or interest. If you want to send over a proposal and you want to be taken seriously take some time and read below.
HOW TO CONTACT DECENTLY:
Find the right person to send it to. Writing on the Facebook page or Instagram profile won't take you anywhere. Use e-mail. Investigate through the internet and find the right person to contact. A info@corporatemail.com address probably won't help you, go get a specific name and e-mail address.Redact a decent e-mail. The reader does not want to decode your message. Be direct and specific, use the gramatical rules you learnt at school. Brief > Long. Keep it easy.
Write down a biography. A short biography is more than enough. You don't need to send over your full history since you were born. 90% of readers will only read the first 3 lines of text. Don't forget about listing your milestones and achievements. If you've got a printable PDF attach it!
Mention your goals. What are your dreams? Where you want to reach? How many time to you spend every week working to get there? A brand wants to endorse people with talent and grounding for a bright future. Don't go too far inflating, the reader will know if you're lying.
What can you offer? Why are you the one they are looking for? Having a strong following and influence on social media will help to bring reader's attention and consider a collaboration. Nowadays Facebook and Instagram pages are essential. Can you insert their logo on your gear, posters and tag them at anything you post...mention so!
Affinity: Are you already a usual customer of the brand? Mention it! This will give you loads of points of getting a discount code or maybe a full sponsoring deal.
High Quality Pictures. Insert some professional shots. The more epic the pictures are, the more likely you're getting the endorsement. DON'T attach mobile phone pictures or videos.
Insert links. Do you have a website, a video or an interesting social media page? It's always best to get those together.
Follow up. No answer? Don't stress. Many times the message gets lost in the inbox and a simple follow up will assure you get your answer, positive or negative.
Resurrection Fest is a rock music festival that takes place in Viveiro, Spain. This festival is held annually since 2006 during July or early August, and features mainly heavy metal, hardcore punk and punk rock bands. Since its birth it has become one of the most important music festivals in Spain.
That's why we want to recall the 9 Things you missed if you weren't last week in Galicia.
1. Skindred.
After enjoying this amazing Welsh band in 2015, they got invited to headline the first night of the festival. Playing Justin Bieber and turning it intro a Heavy Metal - Reggae anthem made sweat the sh*t out of a 7000 dancing souls. Impossible to disappoint.
2. Resu Kids at the Bad Religion Show
Get back to the past, and imagine yourself being a 12 year old kid who loves Rock'n'Roll. Then your parents sign you up to the "Resu Kids", a special Club inside the festival. While they drink and see their favourite bands, you walk through the festival field, meet bands, play instruments and end up watching Bad Religion onstage. Is this a dream?
3. The Ferris Wheel
This years novelty was a green Ferris Wheel. A 100% MUST DO, before leaving the festival. Gotta say we went twice, and its even more Heavy Metal than it seems.
The wheel starts slow, but then speeds up surprisingly. Watching Volbeat from up there was amazing.
4. The Offspring
The Californian band is now playing for 32 years. Who didn't grow up listening to Self-esteem or Kids aren't Alright? If you missed their show you didn't go to Resurrection Festival.
5. The Pouring Rain
The day we got there it was really sunny but things changed with the blink of an eye.
While our friends Hyde Abbey were playing, the heavy rain started. Luckily we had our tent and could protect our boxes. Some people started to run from it, and some people started to play under it.
6. Cafe Racer & Food Trucks
Our friends of Cafe Racer make the best pizzas ever. Did you meet them at the Festival food area?
7. The Bring me the Horizon Controversy
Brian Baker the guitar player at Bad Religion (And ex. Dag Nasty / Minor Threat) posted online a picture of a sign warning the festival crew, workers and bands about not staying in the way of Bring Me The Horizon band members. The UK metal band didn’t like it at all and got back with awful words. Baker, clever enough, got them on the ground real fast.
(noisey.vice.com/blog/bad-religion-bring-me-the-horizon-going-at-it-in-the-comments?utm_source=noiseyfbenglish)
8. Iron Maiden
All the heavy-metalheads got into line and waited at the first row from early in the morning to get the closest experience of the legendary Iron Maiden.
The band performed a 120 minute set including some of the most wanted hits “Fear Of The Dark” or “The Number Of The Beast”. Unbelievable fireworks, 3D mapping and crushing sound is something that you definitely missed.
9. American Socks Playlist
This is the third year we're attending this event with American Socks.
Promote the brand, have fun, and supply everyone with our fancy eco-friendly socks are our main goals :)
- Did You play the Crane Machine?
- Did you buy Socks?
- Did you dance to all the party songs we played the last day?
If all the answsers are yes, you had the complete American Socks x Resurrection Festival experience :)

1. Planeándolo todo bien
2. Preparando la mochila
3. Ubicándote en la zona
4. Viviéndolo a tope
Vamos a ver, ¿POR QUÉ?
- No mates a tus amigos.
It's as amazing as it sounds.
Travis Barker from Blink182 got a package of American Socks last month. Our sickest surprise is to see that he proudly wears the American Pride Mid High II on the following video:
Blink182 are releasing today their new album "California".
It's their first effort to feature Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba into the lineup, and also their first release without Tom DeLonge. The band released the music video for Bored To Death, their first single, last week. ENJOY!
Who the f*ck is Travis Barker? Travis Landon Barker (born November 14, 1975) is an American musician and producer, and the drummer for the American rock band Blink-182. Punk-Rock hero for a whole generation of drummers he is considered one of the best drummers in the world.

5 Things to do at Palo Alto Market
With this hot weather comes a fresh Palo Alto. Head to Poblenou this weekend for this stylish market's Beach edition. As well as a wide range of wares for sales—design, vintage, handmade—there are also workshops, galleries and live music performances, and organic, gourmet and street food stalls. You can spend the whole day shopping, then grab some delicious food to keep your energy up.
Here's what you can do during the weekend:
1. Stroll Around.
Palo Alto is a rally rad place to visit. Located in Poblenou 100m away from the beach, is a beautiful spot, a 1900's industrial factory converted today into a Park with plenty of designer and art offices. Once every month a fashion, music and food market takes over and it becomes a crowded and elegant place to be.
2. Buy Something.
Local designers and brands expose their latest releases, if you're looking into vintage clothing, sunglasses or socks (há!) you'll get great deals and special discounts. It's your chance to get some American Socks for a lower price. If you hang around telling everyone you're a famous fashion blogger...maybe you'll get stuff for free. Liar!
3. Grab a meal at a Food Truck.
The gastronomic offer is HUGE. You can get Sushi, Burgers and even the best tapas in town, everything made at the moment with the finest ingredients. Prices are NOT cheap but you're getting top quality meals. For dessert, how does a Crêpe sound?
4. Listen to live music.
Palo Alto Market ambiance gets it's cherry with music. 3 different stages will transport you to the Barcelona vibe. Check their website for timings and performances here.
5. Drink the typical Vermut.
The sour drink, you love it or hate it, tastes best with some tapas. Ask for it at the bars and start some conversation with local people.
See you there :)
Bright is an original platform which conveys a snapshot of modern lifestyle within an atmosphere relevant to its target group. Since culture is in constant motion, and the influences of its trends are always evolving, the element of its perception fluctuates between art, sport and music.
Above all, authenticity is the leading component.
That's why American Socks is taking part in the upcoming BRIGHT XXIII Trade Show in Berlin this Summer from 19th to 21st January. We'll be presenting the upcoming SS16 collection with new styles.

Weather was not an obstacle for European Punk-Rockers to gather in the small village of Belgium. A thunderstorm of heavy drums and melodic guitar riffs was happening in Meerhout and we were there to join the party. Rated by specialized media as a MUST see, the American Socks acoustic stage lined up 10 worldwide known bands at our modest acoustic stage, performing closely to their hardcore fanbase.
Here are the 10 things you probably missed:
1. Mad Caddies almost turned the whole booth down while performing "Shoot Out The Lights". Did you ever see crowdsurfing on an acoustic gig? We did. ⚡
2. Dave Brownsound, original member of legendary Canada band Sum 41, joined GOB's Tom Thacker the whole set to play songs from the latest record "Apt 13" and the anthem "I Hear You Calling" KILLER ?
3. Much The Same played for the first time in 9 years in Europe. The band wouldn't stop and audience wouldn't leave. "Quitters Never Win"
4. The Groezsock was probably one of the bestsellers during the weekend, exclusively sold during the festival. You won't find any online.
5. We almost got stolen! The American Socks custom board by Esteve @ AYMA Boards hanged at the entrance. During the shows it would get so crowded that some bastard tried to take it. The team had to stop it twice! F.U!
6. Four Year Strong played in front of a hundred of kids that were waiting 45 minutes before the gig. The band signed a Gretsch acoustic guitar that we'll give away during the next weeks.
7. Support your Locals! Upcoming bands like Call It Off, The Morning Hour, Daylight or Note To Amy also got involved in the project and proved that European bands do it better. We had some crowdsurfing too!
8. NineYardsStore.com sent some free goodies you could get at the store, pins, stickers, lanyards & t-shirts. Next time come hang and you'll get some ?
9. Frank Turner. There are no words to describe the natural talent of an artist that played 10 times in a row on Reading/Leeds Festival, well known for spontaneous acoustics and a legion of loyal fans that singed louder than the PA.
10. The After-Movie shot by Camille Does @ Bright Day Media.
See you next year #Groezie
